You will need to provide a VALID, UNEXPIRED government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport, for your notarization. Some examples are:

– U.S. State Issued Driver’s License
– U.S. State Issued Photo ID
– U.S. Passport Book
– U.S. Passport Card
– Certificate of US citizenship
– Certificate of Naturalization
– Foreign Passport (to be used only for real estate closing documents)
– Alien Registration Card with Photo
– Military ID

– 2 Credible Identifying Witness*

* In Texas, if a signer is without identification and is personally UNKOWN to the Notary Public, then TWO (2) CREDIBLE WITNESSES must be able to vouch and swear UNDER OATH for the signer's identity. Each of those signers (the credible identifying witnesses) MUST ALSO POSSESS, AND PRESENT, A VALID GOVERNMENT ISSUED ID.

Documents are notarized to deter fraud. The Notary, commissioned by the state, is an impartial witness that ensures the signer(s) of documents are who they say they are, and confirms the signers have entered into the agreement(s) knowingly and willingly.

NO!!! A Notary Public is not able to provide legal advice because it is considered the practice of law.  For legal advice, you will need to consult an attorney. Some attorneys may be a Notary Public, in which case, they may provide you with legal advice.

YES! WE HANDLE REQUESTS FOR APOSTILLES.

An apostille or an official certificate is provided by, as in this case, the Texas Secretary of State to authenticate the notary’s signature and certify that the notary was authorized to act in the capacity as a public official at the time the document was notarized.

Apostille forms are attached to documents so that they will be accepted in foreign countries that are signatories to the Hague Convention. The apostille ensures that documents issued in one signatory country will be recognized as valid in another signatory country without any further legalization requirements. Countries that are not signatories to the Hague Convention will instead be issued an “official certificate” which requires further legal authentication by the U.S. Department of State and the Foreign Embassy of the country where it is intended to be used.

Further information:

What Is an Apostille?:

  • An apostille is a certificate that verifies the origin of public records.
  • The Office of the Texas Secretary of State is the sole agency authorized to issue these certificates for Texas public records used internationally.
  • Effective October 1, 2023, the Office issues a universal Apostille that is accepted in all countries. However, for non-Apostille Convention countries, further authentication by the US State Department is required before submission to the destination country.

Types of Documents Eligible for Apostille:

  • Recordable Documents: These are issued by statewide agencies/officers and include:
    • Certified copies of marriage licenses, divorce decrees, probated wills, judgments, birth/death certificates, etc.
    • Vehicle title histories.
  • Non-Recordable Documents: These are not issued by statewide agencies/officers but can be notarized in English by a Texas Notary Public. Examples include:
    • School records/transcripts.
    • Adoption proceeding documents.

Business Filings:

  • Apostilles/Authentications can be issued for certified copies of business organization documents (e.g., certificates of formation) and certificates of fact from the Secretary of State’s records.

International Adoption:

  • The Office provides a Universal Apostille for documents needed in the international adoption process.

For more information, visit the Texas Secretary of State’s website.

Unfortunately, no. We do not have a physical brick-and-mortar location that you can come to. This is a MOBILE notary service. This service is for those who need a notary public to travel to their location.  If you want to take your documents to a notary storefront, consider taking them to your bank or local UPS store.

Notary service is BY APPOINTMENT.  Service must generally be scheduled AHEAD OF TIME, especially weekend requests.

Each state sets fees that Notaries may charge to perform notarial acts. Notaries may charge any fee (or none) up to the maximum allowed under their state fee schedule. In Texas, the fees for notary public services are regulated by the Texas Secretary of State (Texas Government Code Ann. § 406.024) for acknowledgments, jurats, and other special notarial acts.
